Apese Aito is a non-profit organization based in Lodwar, Turkana County, Kenya. We work with local communities, schools, religious groups, community organizations, youth groups and other community organized groups to promote and safeguard girls’ dignity.

Purpose of the job holder

The Field Coordinator will be part of the Apese Aito management team. He/ she will provide support and coordinate all field and administrative activities on behalf of the. The Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure dissemination of information and knowledge management for effective program implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to the program work plan, prepare revisions of the work plan, if required
  • Review and finalize all program progress reports, as well as any other reports as required by the organization.
  • Prepare all necessary requirements for volunteers and consultants in accordance with the needs of the organization.
  • Ensure full compliance with Apese Aito operational and regulations in terms of procurement, human resources and finance.
  • Carry a full range of office support work, including managing processes and monitoring activities schedules related to field visits and sanitary items distribution.
  • Coordinate programs schedules taking priorities into account, monitor changes and communicates the information to appropriate partners, inside and outside the immediate work unit, including officials outside Apese Aito team.
  • Assist in preparation and logistical planning for various events like conferences, coordination meetings, girls’ motivation sessions and sanitary items distribution meetings.
  • Maintain inventory of all organization’s equipment and properties.
  • Oversee proper coordination of everyone who participates in the organization’s activities and programs.
  • Undertake any other responsibility as may be required by the organization.

 

Skills Required / Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development studies or Diploma in Community Development.
  • Knowledge of the local communities in Turkana.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Reports writing experience.
  • Field work experience
  • Programs management experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good command of English
  • Must be ready to learn and as well share knowledge with the girls whenever need be.
  • Must be able to operate a camera and use computer well
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel to the rural areas of Turkana
